Unified Communications

Gone are the days of bulky, heavy rack-mounted PBX systems requiring regular service and maintenance packages.

As the way we work and communicate continues to evolve, whether it’s hybrid, remote or even from a beach in the Bahamas, your technology needs to keep up. No matter where your team or customers are, seamless communication remains essential for staying connected and productive.

The key to success comes from a truly effective system.

With this in mind, MAS Networks are proud to be partner with 3CX to be able to deliver small footprint but still reliable and functional telecommunications without big-ticket capex or op-ex expenditure.

We can help tailor a solution based on the challenges your business faces along with IT infrastructure support.

Adapting to change

As the modern workplace is in a continuous transition to new ways of working, so too is the core network structure we all have been basing our connectivity on.

The Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) in the UK will be switched off on 31st January 2027. This means that all phone lines will be moved to a digital network that uses Internet Protocol (IP) over a fibre-based service. MAS Networks can help traverse this changes and bring your communications up to date.

The switch-off will impact a number of aspects, including:

Landlines

Customers will need to find a new digital telephone line (note that customers can still opt for a “landline only” service if they don’t want to purchase an internet connection).

Broadband

Customers may need to upgrade their broadband if it currently uses the ADSL network.

Equipment

Any equipment that uses the PSTN such as alarms, door entry systems, CCTV, faxes and EPOS machines will stop working unless migrated to a suitable service.

Businesses

Businesses will need to move to a fully digital network which can provide benefits such as increased reliability, higher call quality and greater flexibility.

To prepare for the switch-off, you can:

  • Assess your current setup
  • Select the right digital communication tools
  • Plan the migration process
  • Train your staff to use the new systems
  • Ensure that your digital communication systems are fully set up and tested
  • Regularly check your internet connection
  • Consider having a backup communication plan in place

MAS Networks would be happy to help make your transition smooth without the headache of last-minute planning.
